Developing Communities of Reflection on Whiteness: challenges and opportunities

In the context of predominantly or traditionally white institutions (PWI/TWI), it would be impactful to create a cultural shift among instructors who identify as white or who benefit from whiteness. Moving past superficial DEIJ initiatives and dismantling harmful systems of oppression in higher education begins with understanding positionality. Understanding positionality requires reflection. This roundtable invites participants who have tried to initiate learning communities, communities of practice, reading groups, or other opportunities for reflection and discussion on the topic of positionality as a white person. What did you try? What worked? What resistance appeared? How did you address it?
