This session focuses on a reimagined community of practice model that embeds faculty development into real-time teaching experiences to improve equity of student outcomes. Utilizing weekly, virtual meetings, faculty were able to dialogue about issues of equity and student success, which created a safe and supportive environment in which to implement evidence-based practices that improve students’ sense of belonging, identity safety, and growth mindset. Participants will be introduced to these evidence-based strategies and concrete tools they can use to create effective and equity-focused faculty communities of practice relevant to their educational development programs.
